Steve Potter Photography, Capturing Light, Moments & Stories in Manchester & Beyond

I’m Steve Potter, a commercial photographer based in M23 and working across Manchester. Photography has been part of my life for more than twenty years, and I still get a huge sense of excitement every time I pick up a camera. For me, photography is more than taking pictures — it’s about capturing light, freezing a moment in time, and telling a story that resonates with people.

The cost of commercial photography in Manchester depends on the scope of the project, the location, and how the images will be used.

  • No hidden fees or unexpected extras
Most commercial projects typically start from around £300, with tailored quotes provided based on your requirements.

My Approach to Photography
For me, photography is about people as much as it is about images. I take time to build rapport, understand what matters to my clients, and plan carefully before every shoot. Discussing ideas, experimenting with techniques, and making clients feel relaxed in front of the camera are just as important as the technical setup.

I believe in delivering exactly what I promise, on time, and without compromise. One of my most rewarding experiences was producing a large canvas portrait of a mother and her daughters. When I delivered it, they were moved to tears of joy — a reminder that great photography can create memories as well as images.
Tools of the Trade
While the saying goes “the best camera is the one you have with you,” I’ve invested in equipment that helps me deliver the highest standard possible. I use Sony A1 and Sony A1 II flagship mirrorless cameras, paired with professional-grade lenses and editing software. This ensures precision, sharpness and colour accuracy in every project. Most importantly, I know how to use light — both natural and artificial — to bring out the very best in every subject.
Let’s Work Together
If you’re looking for a commercial photographer in Manchester who combines technical expertise with a personal, down-to-earth approach, I’d love to hear from you.
